Skip navigation! Story from TV Shows. Last week on YouJoe Penn Badgley pulled out one final romantic gesture to win back the heart of Beck Elizabeth Lail — and, shockingly, it worked! What a rollercoaster of emotions the penultimate episode of the season is. Really, Joe is just remembering the most significant parts of their relationship.
What exactly happened with Candace? She soon puts pieces together that are quite unsettling. Her Instagram has not been updated in a year, which is weird for someone who is supposedly traipsing around Rome. And, most damning, everyone is convinced she cheated on Joe with her music rep, who, as we know, is mysteriously dead, too. No one likes being called out on their bullshit!
Candace does have an Instagram, just under a different name. Her brother was mentally unstable and thought Joe was a Russian spy. Beck apologizes to Joe for suggesting he killed his ex-girlfriend look, I know that Joe probably did, and has killed other people, but how the hell do you come back from that accusation?
Mooney Mark Blumthe owner of the bookstore who has since only been seen briefly in flashbacks. Which Joe only finds out when he mugs Dr. Nicky for his phone. I am hurtnot because Joe deserves any amount of romantic happiness, but because Beck lied to me. An audience member! I really thought that Beck only had eyes for Joe! How dare she make him feel crazy when she was doing the very thing he accused her of?
Though it is kind of a lot? I actually find this a little confusing. Last week, Beck and Joe had a delightful dual therapy montage where it seemed that Dr. Nicky was, in fact, giving Beck relationship advice. Did they end their relationship before this point? Was Dr. Nicky telling Beck to stop sleeping with Joe, but continue sleeping with him, her therapist?
Joe is understandably devastated and asks Beck why she would do such a thing. Nope: In fact, this moment only brings the couple closer. Through tears, Beck tells Joe that she has never felt love like this before, and was therefore afraid of it.
Well, Joe is totally sold.Affiliates with free and paid streaming include Amazon. On You Season 1 Episode 9, Beck can't shake the feeling that there's more to the story of Joe's lost former love, Candace, and is determined to find the truth. Nicky: If you don't deal with this if you don't face it. It will haunt you, man. Joe VO: Ah, yes. Face Candace. I'd sooner slam my nuts in a door, but anything to stop screaming her name in my sleep.
Beck: I miss this, a routine unless this is something you do with all of your girlfriends. Joe: All of them. The whole harem. Beck: How many have their been by the way? Joe: Girlfriends? Haven't we done this? Beck: I mean besides Karen you only told me about one, what's her name who went to like Europe. God, what was her name? Joe VO: You know her name because you heard me calling it last night, didn't you?
Now you want to know more, of course, you do, why would I call another woman's name in my sleep? YOU Thursdays on Netflix. Permalink: I'd sooner slam my nuts in a door, but anything to stop screaming her name in my sleep.

As Beck cries, screams, and curses at Joe from behind glass, Joe reveals his dirtiest deeds — and he has a semi-logical explanation for each one. Both are mementos! He also uses this logic to wave away the more terrible accusations against him. Peach Shay Mitchell technically tried to kill him first, and anyway, she was stalking Beck! He was just trying to protect his gal.
He leaves her in the book cage with a typewriter and instructs her to write As Joe leaves Beck alone with her thoughts probably about how she really does have the worst taste in men everJoe goes home to solve a different problem. Paco, meanwhile, has had enough of Ron hurting his mother and, armed with a baseball bat, goes to hunt Ron down.
Big mistake. When the baseball bat fails to knock Ron out, Ron pursues Paco outside, threatening to kill him — until Joe comes in. With one swift motion, Joe stabs Rob right in the throat as Paco, who is traumatized for life now, watches. Joe convinces Paco not to say anything. The Salingers are convinced that Peach would never kill herself despite her multiple overdoses and hospital stays and, for some reason, the P. They did find that jar of pee Joe was so paranoid about leaving behind… which must have been real weird for the cops on the scene.
Beck tries and fails to escape the cage, begging to use the bathroom only to have her eyes give away her plan to make a run for the stairs. Joe is flabbergasted — did Beck seriously just throw Dr. Nicky in his face? But no: Beck has an actual plan here. The relationship she depicts is a fictionalized version of the real thing, that paints Dr. Nicky out to be the villain in her story. Beck suggests Dr. She basically sums up the thesis of You when she talks about how she often wished for Prince Charming to save her from all the awful men in her life, like her absentee father, sad excuses for boyfriends, and shitty one-night-stands.
The answer is no, though Beck does an excellent job convincing Joe that she still does love him and understands exactly why he did what he did. They share a moment together in loving embrace… until Beck uses it as an opportunity to turn the tables on Joe and lock him in the cage.
Joe has experience in this cage. Mooney Mark Blum used it to teach Joe a lesson time and time again. Joe, a man abandoned by his abusive and neglectful parents and who has never known true love in his life, saw Mr.
When Beck locks Joe in the prison of Mr. And we all can infer what happened to her. But, Beck gloats far too prematurely. And though Joe understands the significance of getting cage time, he is not crazy about accidentally locking himself in this prison.
